Western States - Injinji Official Race Sock Western States Endurance Run - 100 miles One Day June 26 - 27, 2010
100 Miles Endurance Run / Squaw Valley to Auburn, CA
The Run is conducted along the Western States Trail starting at Squaw Valley, California, and ending in Auburn, California, a total of 100 miles. The trail ascends from the Squaw Valley floor (elevation 6,200 feet) to Emigrant Pass (elevation 8,750 feet), a climb of 2,550 vertical feet in the first 4½ miles. From the pass, following the original trails used by the gold and silver miners of the 1850’s, runners travel west, climbing another 15,540 feet and descending 22,970 feet before reaching Auburn.

The 4th annual San Diego Resolution Run is scheduled for January 9,2010.  The event benefits Strides Foundation which is helping make a difference in Africa by sending volunteers  to help in various projects. Racers may choose between a 5K, 10K and 15K with all races having a 2 hour time limit.  The race loops around Fiesta Island on Mission Bay in San Diego and is the perfect way to kick off a New Year’s Resolution.
Beast of San Diego Trail Run Series - Lake Hodges 5K San Diego Trail Run Series - Lake Hodges 5K January 30, 2010

The Lake Hodges 5K Trail Run is a great race to transition into trail running. The semi flat 5K out and back course runs along scenic Lake Hodges filled with local wildlife. This course can lead to a personal record in trail running for experts but is also a great course for a family event or walkers.

North Broadway & College Street / Los Angeles, CA

The 32nd annual LA Chinatown Firecracker 10K is scheduled to be held February 28, 2010.  The race is currently the largest Chinese New Year run in the US and one of the longest running events in California.  Proceeds from the event are contributed to local inner-city public elementary schools and non-profit organizations in and around the Greater Los Angeles community that fund literacy programs as well as promote healthy lifestyles to reduce childhood obesity.

Wide Water's Marina / Lockport, NY

This Ultra is not for the faint of heart!  Athletes will start at Wide Water’s Marina where they will have access to restrooms and a warming shelter.  They will leave the marina and run along a paved trail for approximately 1 mile where they will cross one of Lockport's historic lift bridges and continue running on the towpath until they've reached the turn around 11.5 miles later.  There will be a check point and aid station.  Athlete’s are encouraged to carry as much supply as they can.  Remember, there are roughly 5-6 miles between aid stations.

Mountain Junkies - Explore Your Limits 5K/10K Mountain Junkies - Explore Your Limits 5K/10K March 6, 2010
 Explore Park / Roanoke Valley, VA

The 6th annual Explore Your Limits 5k/10K is scheduled to be held March 6, 2010.  The event was started in 2005 as the first annual trail run in the Roanoke Valley.  It was originally set up as a fundraiser and way to promote Virginia’s Explore Park historic tours and trails.  Since the closing of the park’s tourist area the race has continued on as a way to showcase what this park has to offer and the 7 miles of tight and twisty IMBA designed single track trails.

Foot Pursuit 5k / Sunset Hill Farm County Park, Valparaiso, IN

The 5th annual Foot Pursuit 5K is scheduled to be held March 6, 2010.  The 3.1 mile trail race is run entirely inside Sunset Hill County Park. The course includes both wooded trails and rolling hills.   Proceeds from the race will benefit the Porter County Chapter of the American Red Cross, The Sunset Hill interpretive center and Timothy Hecht scholarship.

The first annual Santa Rosa Rush Trail Run is scheduled to take place march 20, 2010.  The 5K, 10K, ½ marathon and Marathon Trail Run is a part of SCAR Sports.  SCAR Sports is committed to providing safe, competitive and high-quality trail racing events on scenic and diverse off-road courses, while simultaneously promoting awareness, respect and concern for the environment.  Each course promises diverse terrain including rocks, sand and mud.   Having multiple course lengths allows Santa Rosa Rush to appeal to racers or athletes of any level.

The 50 km race is a four lap event on the trails at the Guana Reserve. Each relay runner must run two consecutive 12.5 km laps . There will be water and refreshment stations on each lap and water about the 4 mile mark on the loop. A personal water bottle and your favorite energy fuel is highly recommended for optimum performance.

Amicalola Falls State Park Lodg / Fort Lauderdale Beach, FL

The 2nd annual Palm 100 race is scheduled to be held Saturday March, 27 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  The race is a 100 miler six person relay going from Ft. Lauderdale, FL to West Palm Beach, FL and back.  The Palm 100 raises money and provides funding for educational outreach and free prostate cancer screenings in South Florida, and supports prostate cancer research to find a cure.  

Dirt Devil Race Series - 5k & 10k Dirt Devil Race Series - 5k & 10k March 28, 2010
Mission Trails Park (Equestrian Center) / San Diego, CA

The 5k course is flat and fast. The route is mostly on dirt with less than 1/2 mile on the road. A map will be posted in a few days. There will be one aid station located at roughly mile 1. It will be fully stocked with Accelerade and water.

San Diego Trail Run Series - Mission Driven Eco Run 5K, 10K Fools Day 12/24 Hour Run & Relay April 2-3, 2010
Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area/ Calabasas, CA
Runners and walkers are welcome in either event trail run/walk distance. The 5K will be a fun run/walk though Mission Trails around the grasslands loop trail. The trail is somewhat flat (strollers have successfully completed this trail) and more of a beginner trail run. The 10K is a little more of a challenge. There are a few more hills and some really cool scenery.  Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category of the 10K.

The 3rd annual Keys 100 is scheduled to be held May 15, 2010.  The races consist of 100 and 50 mile individual ultra-marathons, and a 100 mile, six runner team relay race.  Point to point course from Key Largo (or Marathon Key for the 50 miler) to Smathers Beach in Key West, FL.  The course is unique and scenic going from island to island running nearly the entire length of the Florida Keys.  The Keys 100 raises money for free prostate cancer screenings and educational outreach in South Florida and the Florida Keys, and funds for research at the Lombardi Caner at Georgetown.

The 45th annual Mount Wilson Trail Race is scheduled to be held May 29, 2010.  This 8.6 mile running race is a unique historic event, revered by the Sierra Madre community and by the over 300 competitors who return each year to measure themselves against the mountain.  The Mt. Wilson Trail Race is the second longest run trail race in California and is truly a community event, hosted by the City of Sierra Madre itself.

The SD 100 mile course starts and finishes at the Al Bahr Campground within the Camp Laguna Recreational Area.  The course includes an incredible variety of trails and vistas with minimal out and back tracks and will take runners to the Pacific Crest Trail, the Noble Canyon Trail, Pine Valley and the Cuyamacas.  Completion of a previous 50 mile race is required for registration.

A hilly mountain half-marathon on historic Mulholland fire road will treat runners to beautiful spring foliage and magnificent vistas of the San Fernando Valley. The race is run in early June, and typically has cool, overcast weather. The course is entirely on county-maintained fire roads, with aid stations approximately every 3.0 miles.

This 3.1 mile race will be held on the Ride to Walk Ranch and adjacent roads outside of Lincoln, CA.  The course includes wooded trails and some road.  Proceeds from the race will benefit the Ally Memorial Scholarship Fund to scholarship children who cannot afford the equine therapy that Ride to Walk provides for children with neurological disabilities.

This event combines Culver City's great running and film making heritage.  Runners will start at the shortest Main Street in the world, opposite the legendary Culver Hotel where the Munchkins stayed in 1939. You’ll run the fast and flat streets made famous in the 1948 Culver City Marathon, and pass the world headquarters of Sony Pictures Entertainment before crossing the finish line in Media Park for a great post-race expo.

This 5K has become a Santa Clarita tradition; the last few miles follow the city's parade route which makes for an ideal cheering section. It's a fast and flat course, an ideal race for the summertime.  All proceeds benefit the Cross Country teams of all six Santa Clarita Valley High Schools.

Hosted at the beautiful U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, North Carolina and presented by Carolina Trail Racing, the Rock-N-Race Weekend is a two-day event.  This fun-packed event weekend will consist of a total of four races utilizing the technical, challenging, yet fun and scenic trails along the Catwaba River.  Races will consist of two trail runs, one off-road duathalon and one off-road triathlon.

The Bear Creek XDURO is a 13.1 mile extreme Trail Run Challenge: a half Marathon of dirt trails, gravel roads, rocks, roots and hills.  There is also a 10K race event for those inclined for something less extreme.  This is a kid friendly event that features prizes and a pizza party afterwards, so bring the family!

In August and September, Australian and American firefighters will join together to run a 27 day non-stop relay from Los Angeles to New York.  This event commemorates the sacrifices made by the 343 NYFD firefighters and 68 other emergency service personnel who lost their lives on 09/11 while trying to save others.  Tour of Duty intends to serve as a statement of hope representing the values of humanity, honor, camaraderie and self-sacrifice.

This run is not for the faint-hearted.  It is a more difficult 10K as paths wind through mountain laurel, challenging hills, numerous switchbacks, single tracks, soft sand, alongside ponds, and over roots and rocky spots.  For those seeking less of a challenge, a more moderate 5K is also available.
